ABOUT ME
Jenn Jones currently works as the Director of Ballet for Havilah Dance Company in Matthew, NC and Adjunct Professor of Dance for Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. After earning a bachelors degree from the University of South Florida, Jenn went on to pursue her Master of Arts degree in Dance Education and Masters Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
Following extensive training in classical ballet and character movement at Southern Ballet Theatre (now Orlando Ballet) under the direction of Barbara Watson, and the Ormond School of Ballet under the direction of Jane Bradshaw through the age of 18, Jenn went on to work as a performing artist for 20 years on stage in both concert and commercial arenas. Jenn performed styles including contemporary ballet, modern, jazz and hip hop at a professional level with companies including: the TOC Project in Miami, directed by former Twyla Tharp company member, Lara Tinari, Busch Gardens Tampa, and Bella Danza, a modern/jazz company in Tampa directed by Maria Capitano-Pardo, Karen Pederson and Dancers, utilizing both abled and disabled bodies, Sarah Council Dance Project, and others in Tampa, Miami, and Charlotte.
In addition to her current teaching roles, Ms Jones works as a freelance choreographer for both dance and musical theatre. Jenn has taught for the Patel Conservatory at Tampa Bay’s Performing Arts Center (home of Next Generation Ballet), Tampa Preparatory School, Charlotte Christian Theatre, Charlotte Ballet, and others.
